Timothy Scanlan is a litigator who helps clients navigate complex disputes with strategic, practical counsel. Drawing on experience handling matters from initial claim through judgment, he represents businesses in commercial litigation and brings valuable insight to matters involving data privacy, artificial intelligence, and related regulatory and risk issues. His background also includes advising on privacy concerns arising in transaction-related disputes and conducting appellate research in trade secret litigation.
As an Associate in Gould & Ratner’s Litigation Practice, Tim works with clients facing challenging business disputes and other high-stakes matters where clear analysis, strong advocacy, and sound judgment matter. He approaches each matter with an eye toward both immediate legal needs and broader business objectives.
Before joining Gould & Ratner, Tim practiced at a national law firm, where he focused on commercial litigation, insurance coverage matters, and privacy-related issues. He has meaningful trial experience and has represented healthcare providers, businesses, and other clients across a range of disputes. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), a credential earned through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
