Bassett

Director of Business Development

As Gould & Ratner’s Director of Business Development, Sam Bassett works closely with both individual attorneys and the firm’s practices to create, lead and implement strategic business development objectives and goals.  His long-term focus is supporting successful relationships for the firm with both current and new clients, with an eye toward gauging and constantly improving the client experience and the service the firm provides. He also facilitates cross-selling and cross-collaboration among individual attorneys and across practices to enhance a firm culture where client service means providing practical business solutions.

Gould & Ratner is Bassett’s first law firm, but he has spent his career in business development and sales management successfully serving a variety of professional service organizations in the education and nonprofit sectors.  In fact, his prior company recognized him with its President’s Achievement Award for outstanding leadership and success in enhancing profitability during an industry downturn in the recent pandemic.

Bassett earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in political science from the University of Oklahoma.  He was conferred a Ph.D. in political science by the University of Illinois at Chicago.
