As a partner of Gould & Ratner’s Corporate and Tax Practices, Hrishikesh (Hrishi) Shah counsels employers and plan sponsors on a wide variety of employee benefits and executive compensation issues. His practice focuses on advising employers on the design and administration aspects of retirement plans, welfare plans, executive compensation arrangements, and fringe benefits.

Hrishi regularly counsels plan sponsors on compliance issues related to various federal laws, including ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, COBRA, and applicable requirements of the Internal Revenue Code. Hrishi also helps employers craft executive compensation and incentive arrangements and work through compliance issues, including the ramifications of Code Section 409A.  Hrishi also regularly provides benefits support on corporate transactions, including the negotiation of purchase agreements, due diligence, and mitigation of risks related to benefits and compensation arrangements, including managing issues related to the “golden parachute” rules of Code Section 280G.

Before joining Gould & Ratner, Hrishi worked in the in-house legal department of a Fortune 200 energy company. Prior to that, Hrishi worked in the benefits and compensation practice groups of several large, international law firms.
