Gould & Ratner is pleased to announce that Garrett Graff has joined the firm as a partner in its Corporate Practice.
Graff handles a wide variety of corporate matters, including an emphasis in regulated industries such as cannabis (marijuana and hemp) and liquor. His experience includes corporate formation and structuring, equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, raising capital and securities matters, as well as real estate and other complex commercial contracting issues.
“With the addition of Garrett, our Corporate Practice continues to add breadth and depth to our capabilities, especially in capital raising, fund formation and M&A, and now we are expanding further into cannabis and liquor,” said Rob Chidester, chair of the firm’s Corporate Practice. “Our clients recognize how we are uniquely positioned to help them succeed with their own growth and equity plans. We are thrilled to welcome Garrett to the firm.”
In addition to those in regulated industries, Graff’s other clients span a variety of sectors including real estate development and investment, food, beverage and consumer packaged goods, natural products, and manufacturing, technology and investment companies.
As a result of his experience in cannabis, Garrett was appointed by the Colorado Governor’s Office and two state regulatory agencies to serve on a statewide task force developing a first-of-its-kind regulatory framework concerning intoxicating cannabinoids and the interplay between the marijuana and hemp industries.
Graff, who previously was a partner at Denver-based firm Moye & White, earned his J.D. from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. He is admitted to practice law in Colorado only; he is not currently admitted to practice in Illinois.
