Gould & Ratner is pleased to welcome Yitian Cai as a Senior Associate in the firm's Corporate Practice.
Yitian advises clients through complex transactions at pivotal moments in their growth and evolution. He represents strategic buyers and sellers, private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and emerging businesses in a broad range of domestic and cross-border matters, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, early-stage financings, reorganizations, and corporate governance matters.
Yitian works closely with clients to understand their business objectives while navigating the legal and operational considerations that accompany sophisticated transactions. His experience spans a variety of industries, including industrial manufacturing, food and beverage, technology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, and robotics.
In addition to leading transactions, Yitian has served in fractional counsel roles, supporting companies with legal operations, risk management, and strategic decision-making. He also has experience advising on regulatory issues affecting modern transactions, including antitrust review, foreign investment regulations, cross-border data transfer considerations, and the evolving impact of artificial intelligence on global business operations. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US).
Outside of his practice, Yitian is committed to community service through his volunteer work with Legal Aid Chicago's McCutcheon Legal Clinic and the Chinese American Service League Legal Clinic.
